Re: John 3
If we are born again at the physical baptism, wouldn't that mean it was our will then that we are born again? Would that not contradict this scripture?
1 John 1:13
13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 3:8
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
I believe these scriptures and many others show that we are born again by God's will and his spirit. Physical baptism follows as an act of obedience to outwardly show what's already been inwardly done. Just like all acts of obedience by us shows, that he has begun a work in us.
Phillippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ.
