The genesis of an article

Oftentimes I find a newsworthy article to share or else see one that someone like Karlin has posted and it turns into an article.  In the case of the above story it took a few beats before the dim bulb flickered on and I realized "Hey, there is an article waiting to be written here."

A bit of research and writing and waking up and running it by my beleagured in-house editor (thanks Lu!) and a couple of hours or so later here was the result:
