It took me a while to get here.

What irks me when I go out, is that folks I get to sittin with or around talkin to, just won't shut up, they want to keep yapping to impress somebody. Reminds me of a Bertrand Russell quote about: "The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure, while the intelligent are full of doubt". If folks would just mum up and let the other person get a word in, conversation could be much better, but I suppose that's how ya get to weed folks out, expecially the ones who think themselves to be important. I play my guitar at one place when asked by a group and I come out and the turn gets passed around but they don't wanna let me play, cuz I'm wild with original stuff and it shows em up, but they want me there cuz I'm a good player but resist lettin me get the spotlight cuz when I do the whole place (the gals) lights up and the dudes don't like that. so I just play along their 3-chord tunes for the fun of it and besides, they're all nice folks anyhow and its a little therapeutic. but the point is the same, that its nice to find someone who respects what ya think enough to shut up and listen, cuz even though i write words like cuz, I ain't really all that dumb and have a lot of smart stuff that I keep to myself. Deep folks are hard to find, expecially nice ones. Which reminds me of a joke I told a fan yesterday when they said I was deep. I said I wasn't deep, but was a little long, although not always long enough to bottom out in which case I tend to just bang the walls a while until things get good. Not really, lol, that was crude but if ya were there ya woulda laughed. Like a cop, I always keep a backup piece ready in case my service revolver gets lost or runs out of bullets. OK, I'm going down in flames now....... better quit while I'm behind only a litlle, lol. If I had a point in any of this, I hope it was worth reading.
