Use Nature Instead of Drugs to Treat and Relieve Asthma
Use Nature Instead of Drugs to Treat and Relieve Asthma
by Tony Isaacs
More than 22 million Americans suffer from the chronic inflammatory disease asthma and the number is steadily growing, especially among children. Asthma symptoms include airflow obstruction, chest tightness and shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing. Severe asthma attacks can be fatal. Mainstream medicine treats asthma symptoms with drugs and medical inhalers, some of which have side effects so dangerous that class actions suits have been filed against the makers. Nature offers a number of safer options for relieving and preventing asthma as well as healing and supporting the lungs.
The ever increasing toxic load man is causing is likely a huge contributor to the increase in asthma, as is the decreasing nutritional value of our foods. Asthma is generally triggered by either bronchial infections, an allergic reaction, or a lung irritant such as smoke or fumes. Besides toxins, allergens and irritants, items to avoid to prevent asthma attacks include milk and dairy (which causes allergic reactions and is also mucous forming), gluten and acetaminophen.
One extremely effective way to beat asthma is nebulizing with colloidal silver and lobelia extract (5 parts colloidal silver to 1 part lobelia) in order to help bring up mucous, heal the lungs and eliminate any pathogens present. Adding 1 part mullein can make the treatment even more effective. Mullein is an antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory herb which also fights respiratory viruses and aids in lung healing. One asthma remedy that is frequently effective is known as “garlic syrup”, which can be made as follows:
Separate and peel the cloves of 3 garlic bulbs. Simmer them in a non-aluminum pan with 2 cups of water. When the garlic cloves are soft and there's about a cup of water left in the pan, remove the garlic and put in a jar. Then, add 1 cup of vinegar and 1/4 cup of honey to the water that's left in the pan, boiling the mixture until it is syrupy. Pour the syrup over the garlic in the jar. Cover the jar and let it stand overnight. Swallow 1 - 2 cloves of garlic with a teaspoon of the syrup every morning on an empty stomach.
Garlic can also be used by pressing the juice from raw garlic and then mixing 10 – 15 drops in warm water and taking internally.
Another asthma remedy calls for mixing 1/4 cup of onion juice with 1 tablespoon of raw organic honey and 1/8 tablespoon of black pepper.
