Re: A Prebiotic That Boosts Bifidobacteria Selectively

Tony,
That is good. I have always said that oral Prebiotics are more important than current oral Probiotics. Lactofiltrum is the best Prebiotic I am aware of. It has shown to increase the level of bifidobacterium like any other Prebiotic. Unfortunately, it isn't available in US but Lactulose, its main ingredient, is available as a veterinarian medicine and prescription tablets. I will do an effort to get Lactofiltrum from Brazil or Russia, but if not, I will take lactulose tablets. My bifido levels are low but present ( 2+ ) At least, I have hope to increse them. To my point of view, Bifidos are more important than Lactos and it is hard to find Bifido Blends. Most probiotics are based on lactobacillus but the true is Bifidobacteriums are more important since they domain the colon. The immune system is based in the state of colonic friendly bacterias. Inulin and FOS have prebiotic effects on Bifidos but Lactulose is more effective.
