Basal cell carcinoma

Tony or Luella,

My wife, Barb, has had melanoma for ten years or so, localized on the left side of her face. It has been arrested for over two years now by a treatment including interferon and Lovastatin. She had to quit the interferon about six months ago because she could not tolerate it but is still taking the Lovastatin. In addition she has taken the Budwig diet every morning for about six months.

She has found out that she now has basal cell carcinoma in the same area and right next to her ear, tho no melanoma detected. Plans are for her to have an examination by some sort of micro mapping device which is supposed to detect the total area involved, after which, of course, surgery will be recommended.

I am apprehensive about surgery due to previous damage as she already has some paralysis around her mouth. She is reluctant to refuse the surgery, especially since the Budwig diet apparently has not prevented this. I am casting around for ideas which show good track records in hopes of convincing her to refuse the surgery. Any ideas?

Thanks, Bill
