 I've added rosehip very recently, and keep getting sore throat and the feeling i'm coming down with something again, i.e just got over cold.

Is rosehip strong enough to cause these detox reactions?

Rosehips are not detoxing, but they can be an allergen.  So an allergic reaction is more likely.
