Re: Question on day 5

hi M, in a way its good that an enema doesn't go too far, that way the beneficial microflora left in the ascending colon can restore to healthy levels. like an aquarium.

in my body a simple 2 litre enema reaches the transverse colon quite easily and clears the passage for any residual to move to the sigmoid sooner. i don't think there's any point in flushing more than twice in the early days of a fast because once the burden of food/feces is eliminated there's nothing much left to flush and the body can begin detoxing immediately.

i'm about to research the physiology of toxin elimination.

hygienists say flushing the colon in the early days causes enervation and disrupts the natural cleansing process, but (for me) its always been the opposite. retaining feces - since i don't have bowel motions from day one of my fasts - just makes me nauseous as tho the body is reabsorbing the contents of the bowel for food, ick! makes me want to lay motionless all day. whereas flushing re-energizes my body, makes it feel clean and light and i can enjoy brisk walks and fresh air. of course my diet (before and after fasting) is rich in electrolytes via yogurt, nuts, veg and raw green juices etc which is of major importance before any form of colonics.
