Re: Very nice post, Unyquity
Linda,
Okee-dokee, let's see if we can't figure this out :)
Whenever one has ANY type of digestive issue, I always think "clog in the pipeline". Our bodies SHOULD have no difficulties taking in, digesting and getting rid of food & nutrients. Many MANY times, if someone has heartburn, acid reflux, gas, burping, mini-vomiting, the infamous "hiatal hernia" or any combination of the above, the reason is that the food isn't moving through the pipeline as smoothly, quickly, or efficiently as it should. Somewhere or another it's getting 'hung up', something is blocked, the food is sitting somewhere too long - starting to putrefy and give off gas...and that's what causes the symptoms.
If the HCL gives you some relief, that's even a stronger indicator that something's either not being digested properly, or something's not moving along like it should.
Many people get relief from a few teaspoons/tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar (with or without water, and a bit of honey or maple syrup) ...it MUST be organic and unpasteurized/raw, Braggs is the most popular brand, Eden is another good one. Although this may provide relief, it probably won't provide a long-lasting cure. But if you give it a try, and find that it removes symptoms, you'll be one step closer to nailing down the actual reason for your symptoms.
At this point, my recommendation is a truly thorough
Colon Cleanse program. I prefer
Dr. Schulze s Intestinal Formula #1 & #2. It can be purchased through
Dr. Schulze s website, or Southern Botanicals.
colonics are a good thing, but they don't affect the whole digestive tract like something one takes orally. If you do have some type of clog or blockage higher up than the
colonic can reach, then they might provide some relief, but they're not going to provide a cure. I have many, many reasons for choosing
Dr. Schulze s
Colon Cleanse products...first of all, they've been around for decades, and provided thousands of people with a total cure. Second, they're designed to effect a total, long-lasting cure...not just a temporary remedy or cleansing. Thirdly, the IF #2 (which is the deep cleanser) doesn't just contain psyllium for roughage, and
Bentonite clay for detoxing, it contains all kinds of soothing healing herbs for your digestive tract AND it's available in capsule form from Southern Botanicals (so you don't have have to drink those nasty, muddy concoctions).
