Antibiotics

So I had a doctor tell me that he will give me Antibiotics that should kill the candida as this Antibiotic kills fungi and other bacteria. However, it is not absorbed by the intestine so it won't kill good bacteria. He is giving me probiotics to take as well and told me to take the Antibiotics for 10 days, then rest and then take it for 10 more days again. Does this sound like something that could work?? This is treatment coming from Mexico, the home of all intestinal diseases. I trust this doctor and he sounds like he knows what he is doing. Need a second opinion for you guys.
