Re: eft
It DOES take getting used to that you seem to be making negative statements when intuitively you'd prefer positive affirmations. But you have to understand how it all works.
Fear is a survival mechanism. If you glance down and see a rattlesnake at your feet, you don't take time to think through "wow this is a rattle snake. I can tell by the rattle on the back, the colors, if it's a rattle snake then that means it's poisonous and I could die. 30 seconds later you move away.
What really happens is you look down get full of adreneline, scream and jump in the other direction. That's because fears, aversions, and any other painful emotion or memory get turned into this macro and stored as a physical reaction that doesn't respond well to logic or changes in circumstances.
For whatever reason, tapping on those negative emotions takes the physical reaction out of these emotional triggers. So EFT works best when stating and bringing to mind these negative emotional triggers while tapping.
It's handy to have a physical reaction to rattle snakes, but not to be afraid to death of getting in a car because of an accident you had 10 years ago. Or speaking in front of people because of something that happened in the 1st grade.
That's where EFT comes in and it works fantastically well.
