Re: Red Light Therapy For Lymphedema

Yes, the red light helps both the pain and the swelling of lymphedema in my arm. I use the red light for 1 to 2 minutes on each area. I bought two of the lights, so it only takes me half the time compared to one light. I do this treatment every other day, or three times per week.

My arm swelling has gone down completely, leaving only the area under my arm where they actually took out the lymph nodes as a problem area. I am still working on that area. I am so glad that I have seen wonderful progress on my upper arm.

I can heartily recommend the use of the near infrared light for pain and swelling of lymphedema. I understand that other people may have more severe cases of lymphedema, but for the cost of the light ($40 at drugstore.com) it is certainly worth a try.
