Black mold in my sonicare toothbrush

I have been using my sonicare toothbrush for about 4 years. I clean it when I change the head and tooth paste insert and dry it off after each use. It's been grubby before but this time, after 6 months it started to smell. Gross, I know. However, when I opened it there was black mold everywhere. The best part is that I have been feeling unexplainable ill for about 3 years. I have been under tests and on medications and no one knows anything. But today, I open up the brush, and there it all is. So, after reading the symptoms, and seeing all MY stptoms on one list, I think I have been poisoning myself. Is it a possibility? Or am I just fishing for a diagnosis. Please help.
