Sometimes souls don't cross over if they still had unfinished business on the earth plain. Before crossing over, they need to know that everything will be alright.

Other times, if people had a sudden, traumatic death (accident, murder) they have trouble accepting their passing. Often those who committ suicide later regret their actions.

Since I don't know about your father's passing, I can't be sure as to what is going on with him. If you feel that he left some unfinished business and you know exactly what it is, try talking out loud to him. For example, if you and he had an estrangement and he had hoped for reconciliation, you could tell him how you feel about it and let him know you'll be fine and that it is OK for him to cross over.

If possible, if you are able to have lucid dreams, talk to him next time he shows up in your dream.

Either way, he'll hear you---whether you tell him in a dream or if you tell him when you are awake. Tweet
