Re: Energy efficiency for people who rent :)

Great hint, I would like to add that keeping flour in the freezer also prevents weevils and pantry moths from getting into it. (We are prone to these pests in the summer, and this is a great way of stopping them spoiling flour).

Replacing an old, tired fridge is also an economically positive move, old fridges use a lot of power just to run at all, and often do not run efficiently. Old fridges (just cut the power cord off), make great vege boxes, (remove the door and lay it on its side) for either growing vege in, or for storing potatoes, onions or pumpkins in. Just add a couple of ventilation holes in the bottom, and you have a nice dark storage cupboard. Always make sure that you put a latch on the fridge door, if you have young children around, as sometimes they can trap themselves inside.

Keep em coming Hv :)
