Fluorescent lights have been around a long time, and yes, I am always very careful when handling them, and have not broken one as yet. Education on how to use these products safely and dispose of them correctly, is needed.
Having worked many years doing night shift, there is definitely a few health problems for people who work under artificial lighting of all types.
I found that replacing standard fluorescent lights, with full spectrum lights, can mitigate many of the health concerns.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I personally think that any small changes people can make to reduce our use of power, generated from fossil fuels, the better.
Lots of people making lots of small changes, will make a big difference.
