These types of "whole food" supplements are the biggest trend in the industry. Megafoods, New Chapter, and Garden of Life are some of the bigger names selling these products.
They basically make a "soup" where they take synthetic vitamins and minerals, and then they add yeast, which feeds on the nutrients. So the vitamins and minerals are incorporated into the yeast.
I think it's an interesting idea, but there's been no confirmation as to whether or not these products are any better than the plain old synthetic versions.
