Finally some answers and some hope.
Sorry, this is long, feel free to move on, I don't know how to edit myself. ;0)
I saw a woman in Brownstein's office who does electro-dermal screening - which I've had in the past, but apparently this is newer technology, and I was pretty impressed. When I first met her I thought, gosh, she looks really young, but she's got an encyclopedia in her head and from the sounds of it, was trained by a a multi-PHD genius and is still constantly studying - right now biochemistry. I got an hour and half with her and I wish I wasn't so foggy, I can only remember what I wrote down. I guess Brownstein wasn't even that on board with it until very recently, which might explain why he didn't send me to her in the first place, which was probably what I needed most.
Anyway, finally... it confirms some stuff that I suspected was problematic but didn't understand how or what the details were, among new things, and my approach prior to this has been way too heavy handed. She said I'm "easy" as in it's all stuff she can work with, but very sensitive and "very unusual" in that she rarely sees my particular combination of issues.
Major blockage to phase I liver detox pathway (she looked so shocked it scared me a little), bottom of the barrel adrenals, biotoxin/excess ammonia from kidney/bladder blockage (something like ammonia looping/CBS up-regulation), completely blocked lymphatics (confirmed by a lymphatic PT I'm hoping to see in the next few months who believes that's my main issue with my legs), blocked circulation (which we're addressing before the liver work with a Natto/K-2 product, and a methylation issue (apparently a more genetic deficiency in body's ability to process B-12 & folic acid). Apparently can't process sulfur foods, so it explains the gas with those things. On top of that - bacteria, virus, candida and bio-films - yay! lol. Good lord, how am I still standing is what she wanted to know, and the only thing I can say is I've been on autopilot.
What I intuited all along with all the mega dosing of everything I've been trying - systemic enzymes, big liver flushes, high doses of iodine, ascorbic acid, big gulp herbal tinctures, all the other supps I've tried - what seems to resonate with me is tiny, tiny amounts of things, homeopathics, and energy work. I knew I felt really sensitive, but I kept trying to push past it. So the new approach is to go slowly in stages opening the detox pathways, circulation, kidney, adrenals, liver and then lymph. Her experience is that it's better to address circulation before major lymph work, but in my case it may overlap. Then after several months or however long that takes, THEN comes the work on the bugs, when I can detox the die-off. I think I've been hitting it too hard, and my body just wants none of that approach. I'm still getting the NAET type work - that whole vibrational frequency thing, and I still think it's doing something. It must be because last month for the first time in all my adult life I didn't get a headache with my period, less headaches in general, and I'm just feeling more tuned in, if that makes sense.
I'm also pretty excited about the lymphatic specialist/physical therapist I met with, she's another amazingly intelligent & intuitive woman with a huge reputation for healing what no one else can. She really believes lymph is the missing piece in a lot of autoimmune problems, and probably in my case and many cases started with something like a gluten sensitivity early in childhood which creates inflammation in the bowel, thickened colon walls (from long term, chronic inflammation, not from fecal matter, and is blocks nutrient absorption - hello magnesium/mineral deficiency), and creates deep lymph blockage in the abdomen which creates backups all over the body. The kicker is she's not taking new clients right now, and I have an indefinite wait to get on her regular schedule, all I could get was one consult.
I've been sick for years, but I finally feel like I'm on the verge of unraveling this puzzle.
Oh, and the machine said my thyroid is balanced! Some other thing she found on the testing can apparently throw off the thyroid blood tests and make it look abnormal when in fact it's not. So who knows.
This assumes the machine and the practitioner are right, but I have a hunch it's all pretty on point, and makes me wonder if this is the future of diagnostics.
I went off ALL the doctor-prescribed supplements that I wasn't tested on through the bio-meridian testing or kinesiology, herbs and the other things I was taking, and felt marginally better right away. After a short period of time just on a Bach flower remedy homeopathic (which actually my husband picked out for me), a couple days on one capsule of the natto product, water
oz magnesium, potassium, their trace
Iodine product, and their manganese, along with 2 tablets of Biotics Thyrostim, I'm already feeling a difference and for some reason I'm pooping mucus. And very little gas and flatter stomach. Also made up an electrolyte drink she recommended with raw honey, water, celtic salt, potassium bicarbonate and aluminum-free baking soda (just a little nervous about the baking soda). Apparently the glucose from the honey and that particular balance helps it get into the cells better. The other homeopathics for lymph, adrenals, liver and kidney come next.
She didn't have it in stock to test me, but I may be trying a product from healthforce.com called liver rescue, which she thinks very highly of, if the homeopathic alone doesn't do it.
I'm a little afraid to get my hopes up, but they're up anyway. I swear to god, if I get my life back and get well, I'm not going to waste one more minute of it on trivial things. Maybe I could even learn this technology and help other people with it. Of course I don't think my bachelor of fine art degree is going to help me much, there -lol! ;)
