I'm amazed on day 17 that my fast is steadily about the same. My previous 12-day Water Fast 2 years ago was much harder. Over the last 10 or more years I have removed almost all processed foods from my diet and limited preservatives , but I've still relied on bottled dressings, canned goods and such. It's all getting cleared out of my pantry before the fast ends!!
For this fast I am mentally preparing for a shift in diet to whole organic foods, juicing and nutrient-dense choices. I'm reading books on clean eating, collecting recipes and planning how and where I will buy local produce and eggs, unprocessed foods and quality goods. Trader Joe's has some great stuff - but still need to read the labels. The point is, I am intentionally avoiding any thoughts of meals or foods I shouldn't be eating. Funny thing is, reading about food doesn't bother me. In a weird way, I like the freedom of not eating.
