I've been looking for an explanation of how these things work for a long time. All I can find is that they are random number generators. The original version apparently took NO mechanical or electrical readings from the user. I know that a lot of people rave about it though, so that can't be right. Or is it? Is anything in this universe ever actually random anyway?

If it's really just a random number generator I could program an EPFX simulator pretty easily and let everyone here use it for free...
