urine therapy for insomnia

Aabout a year or two ago someone mentioned to me that urine therapy (which he used for another reason) had the pleasant side-effect of curing a lifetime's insomnia. So I am trying this right now.
He said you have to not drink alcohol, coffee, or use medication for a month before starting to drink your own urine. I was not ready to make concessions like this in my life before, but now I am and after a month of no medication and no alcohol I have started. How long will I have to use urine therapy until I will know that it has the effect that I want it to have (that is, cure my insomnia)?
I am about two weeks in and it does not seem to help. Wikipedia says urine contains melatonin. This may be what helps insomnia, right? If this is the only reason: I have before tried melatonin pills and it seemed I am not a melatonine responder however. Maybe it is different with body own melatonine?

I am also worried about the following parts: About 3 weeks into not drinking alcohol and taking medication or drinking coffee, I drank coffee twice, because I forgot and I took a sleping tablet one night. I also only stopped drinking black tea after I already started urine therapy, because I found it too hard not to drink black tea, even though it contains caffeine also. How bad can this be for my body and what effect can this have on the fact whether urine can cure my insomnia or not?
