eyeballing Iodine in 1900

Hey all,

Seems that 1% and 2% Iodine prepared in petroleum was used back in 1898 to treat trachoma.
Dr. Edward Jackson and Dr. T.B. Schneideman commented that this treatment for the disease was far superior to many of the common methods used in the day. They felt that Iodine needed to be given more attention than it was getting. We all know the rest of this story. So tragic but this forum offers hope!


Trachoma is the leading cause of blindness in the world.
