starting a gut healing diet as a vegetarian and herbalist has prescribed large amounts of meat..help
Hello all I just came across this website and have a little ray of hope that i may get some help!I have been going to see various people over the years for my stomach issues, had all the traditional 'medications and investigations' along with more
Antibiotics than i care to think of. Last year i was put on an anti histamine diet by a doc that left his practise half way throught the treatment and now im seeing a new Herbal Doc who is putting me on a gut healing diet. I'm willing to work really hard at this diet and take all the reccomended probiotics etc etc, problem is i've been vegetarian (ovo-lacto) for 16 years and she has given me a whole bunch of meat to eat! I've said i will seriously think about it but in the meantime im not sure how i can survive on these foods? its a no no to lentils, chickpeas and tofu.I think I could think about eating fish more than meat..would this have the same effect in terms of healing properties?
If anyone has any recipe suggestions or comments i would be VERY grateful. really sorry for long post but maybe theres someone in my boat:)

Eggs, fresh organic (can have scrambled with butter/poached for breakfast)
Mayo – home made only
Herbs/Spices

Garlic, fresh (not dried) in meats, salad etc.
Parsley,
Sea Salt
Other- for cooking
Butter, organic
Coconut oil for cooking
Olive oil, virgin cold-pressed for salads and on veggies
DRINKS
Chamomile tea, organic
Peppermint tea, organic
Juices freshly pressed from permitted fruit and vegetables
Water, spring, low minerals – 2L daily – this is very important as it carries the toxins out of your body. Never have tap water.
