Leaving clues in my dreams

i can leave clues for myself in my dreams. i have had 2 seperate dreams where i have done this. both dreams were set in completly different places, yet were very similar. i would come to some type of obstacle, make a mark and wake up. i would then have the same dream again sometime later and come to that same obstacle. however, the second time around the clue i left myself would help me get past it. sometime further in the dream i would have a new obstacle and leave a new clue. the first dream i have had 4 times and the second dream i have had 3 times. each time the clue i left behind will help me get further in the dream. has this happened to anyone?? does anyone know what it means??
