I grew up in Cook County. My parents were both born and raised in Chicago, and my dad took us kids by train into the city to the museums...we always had to go see the lake, too, while there.

Funny about your hometown. My first biggest crush was in the fourth grade. Then he had to move...to Muskegon! sigh
