Re: This looks like advertising. OP has no other posts n/t
Hi everyone,
First of all, this is NOT advertizing, I do not work for any company ( I am a graduate student studying plants!) selling the products I have mentioned and I certainly cannot guarentee that they will work for anyone else or that they even cured my condition. I can only tell you what I took and how I am no longer in pain and can now eat all of the foods i have been intolerant of for 2 and a half years.
Second, IBS is NOT the same as Leaky gut. For me IBS is occassional bloating and constipation. Leaky gut is severe joint and muscle pain following gluten containing foods and severe post prandial fatigue (following sugary and starchy foods) and general feeling of ill health. IBS is annoying, Leaky gut is downright debilitating.
I simply wanted to share my story because I really thought I would be stuck for the rest of my life not being able to eat normally and I thought it was important for people to know that it obviously can be healed, whether this was due to the products I was taking or whether it healed nautrally I cannot say I can only share what I did and the fact that I can now eat normally.
The probiotic I took was Culturelle it just says Digestive health on the box you can buy it at CVS for approx $20. I also took other probiotics in the past also recommended by my nutritionist such as therbiotic (powder) very expensive at $70 (from VRP) I personally did not notice much difference, perhaps the different strains benefit people different? My guess is that the particular strain in Culturelle was of benefit for me.
One thread asked what I was eating at this time? If you are referring to when I had leaky gut, well I ate a diet based largely on rice products (rice milk, rice bread, rice pasta etc) lots of green veggies and low
Sugar foods, I was also able to tolerate yoghurt and eggs. I also ate white meat and fish for protein and nuts for energy. This diet helped but was very restrictive and difficult when eating out. Everything seems to have dairy or gluten in it! I also started off with the pain in my right side, docs thought it was
Gallstones but Ultrasound showed nothing. I never found out what it was, it went away evenutally hard to say way because I tried so many things but most likely a restrictive diet helped.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask I totally understand what a nightmare this condition is and still cannot believe I can eat normally again!
I hope this gives hope to some of you out there!
