The walls of air sac.

A couple of days ago, I have received the news that I have COPD. I am 46 years old and have a 76 year old lungs. So this is all new to me.

What I have learned so far...we have mucous in air ways and the air sac walls are destroyed. The stale air stays in the air sac and the fresh oxygen cannot get in.

So...how do we naturally heal our air sac? And what are the best books on COPD? COPD and emphysema are the same thing, correct? I am finding confusing info on how to remove the mucous in the air ways.

I am on Spiriva, so I am hoping this will get the old air out the air sac and let the fresh O2 in the air sac. But, of course I would like not to be on any medicine. If I can find some natural way to heal the air sac and let oxygen in it, then I will get off the meds, meanwhile, I need to learn what I can do. Any suggestion?
