I took Livatone Plus early on in my flushing experience (just one bottle). I have done 22 flushes in 14 months. I took it because it helps to dredge out pharmaceuticals in the liver. Unfortunately, I suffered from neck and shoulder pain and took lots of Tylenol before I figured out the problem, a clogged liver and gallbladder. I think it helped me along in decongesting the liver.

My long range goal is also not to take supplements, however, I feel during this process supportive herbs can help a lot. One thing that I think that is important is to take breaks from liver supporting herbs from time to time. As you take these things, they are helping the liver, but it also needs a break occasionally. Just my 2 cents. :)
