Re: Thoughts on Mental Deprogramming
Options are...
Remain in the trap.
Take steps to get loose.
BTW, you may enjoy reading some Milton Erickson. I enjoy how he shows how to unravel certain stuck issues in people by using shamanic devices through hypnosis.
For instance....
A man who was being held in an institution because he claimed he was Jesus was interviewed and hypnotized by Milton. Milton discovered this man's unique psychological imprint and then devised the perfect unraveling of this man's stuck energy.
He gave the man an assignment.
He said well then you are a carpenter are you not?
The man had to go along with the Jesus paradigm to keep it afloat so he of course replied yes. Then Milton assigned many woodworking tasks to the man around the institution. Over time the man became much more focused on carpentry and less interested in the persona of Jesus. He became a great carpenter and saw himself in a new way and was thus released.
Everyone that Milton saw was given an assignment based on where they were psychologically and where they wanted to go. In effect he built a psychological metaphorical bridge that when they engaged, they would cross over to a new paradigm. Genius.
His record for getting results remains unmatched in the field of change work.
What is your current reality metaphor and what would you like it to be? Construct a (code) bridge. ;-)
