Re: Throat issues

when my immune system has taken a battering (lack of sleep, alcohol etc), my throat gets sore and inflamed around the glands etc. This is often accompanied by 'feeling unwell'.
I have suffered rheumatoid swelling in the knee and think that my adrenals need boosting (which I am currently doing).
I had my tonsils out as a child due to a high level of tonsillitis but still get these throats.
My question is whether or not this is related to the arthritis and adrenals or a different problem altogether?

It is hard to say what is going on for certain without a culture.  But it does sound a lot like a recurrent bacterial infection, most likely strep. Sinus drainage can run down the throat causing repeated infection.  A weak immune system increases the risk of infection.

You may want to try making a tea of 3 parts pau d' arco and 1 part licorice root.  Rapidly boil the herbs covered for 20 minutes then turn off the heat and allow it to steep until cooled. Drinking one to two quarts of the tea throughout the day for several weeks will help to wipe out the strep bacteria if this is the problem.
