I appreciate that surgeons and the National Health Service in general (I am also in the UK) regard surgery as the standard solution, but do not profit from it… and I gave up one consultant because he would not discuss anything with me or consider complimentary medicine.

Pancreatitis is a medical condition, not a solution or operation, ¿but I assume you mean cholecystectomy?

I had gluten allergy and an ulcer before gallstones/jaundice/pancreatitis were diagnosed, so I am wondering if the cholecystectomy will cure all my problems. I remain an advocate of gallbladder flushes.

"Why not just wait a while before rushing into surgery. My doctor here in the UK advised me to wait on the basis that many people only ever have one bought of pancreatitis and it isn't good grounds for an operation"

If you want my one-page potted medical history I will post it… but I was increasingly intermittently acutely ill for 25 years before being ill regularly for 11 months, during which time I did 6 gallbladder flushes. I think my gluten allergy attacks (including NHS-diagnosed Jaundice are related to gallstone attacks, and before I started the gallbladder flushes I was very allergic to gluten. My gallbladder problems caused me no discomfort until I got pancreatitis (but my gall bladder was inflamed when they removed it, after being nil by mouth for 4 days), and I had at least 4 pancreatitis attacks, which did cause discomfort above the navel. An MRI showed numerous gall stone still in the gall bladder, and these stones were the “right” size to get stuck in the ducts… and my common bile duct is tapered, making stuck stones even more likely... but I could have continued with the flushes, as the gall stone that caused the latest bouts of pancreatitis did eventually move on by itself. My mother and all 4 of my siblings have had gall bladder problems. You can look me up on the survey, as only two participatants have had diagnosed acute pancreatitis.
