Nope, not a myth at all. They are now discovering that some women collect so much iron after menopause that it creates major health issues.
Oddly a while back I took IP6 after reading about this excessive build up of iron. I thought I was fully in menopause, and after 3 years I got my menses.....scared me!!
Makes you think about the days they were hawking Geritol with extra iron. Little did they know.
Iron is essential is the proper levels. But I did read the absolutely best way to keep it in proper levels is from "bleeding"....and since we've long ago stopped using leaches, I think donating blood is not only a worthy investment, but apparently very good for you.
