Re: New breathing/swallowing symptoms
Thanks Omo,
Some great advice.
Currently struggling with being chronically ‘wired’, all day, not just at the typical times during the eve and am struggling to get more than a few hours sleep. Have been thinking it might be due to a food/supplement intolerance but I’ve stripped everything out and am already gluten, nut, dairy, spice, nightshade and cruciferous veg free. Accompanying the wiredness is a general craving for pretty much all food which isn’t good! The only supplement I have been taking consistently over this ‘wired’ phase is betaine HCL with fenugreek. I still experience allot of gas and abdominal ache and distention so it’s possible I’m perhaps not digesting well at all and triggering a constant auto immune response, even if the food is ‘safe’ and hypoallergenic. I am switching back to a different brand which I used previously but it’s a bit far fetched to think the addition of fenugreek is causing chronic wiredness and insomnia.
It’s possible it’s just a phase, as I’ve been through many in my journey with AF. The breathing has actually been slightly better recently along with the swallowing but the ‘wiredness’ is really setting me back both physically and emotionally. As many will sympathise being awake right through the night without naturally getting tired is one of the most depressing feelings one can experience, expecially when I’m hanging onto a job!
Not easy to tell whether it’s an overeactive immune and/or nervous system causing the trouble. Very frustrating as I’m unable to get a baseline for taking any supplements. I react negatively to things like magnesium and GABA, both known as relaxants and most of Dr Lam’s supplements.
I think your also right about the fibre. A small amount of pyllium felt like cement when I tried it! Certainly wouldn’t doubt it’s effectiveness if you have the energy, and gut health to push it through.
It’s obvious my gut and liver are a mess as I can feel both. This wired state unfortunately makes it impossible to determine the effectiveness of any supplements, and highly sensitive.
So at the moment I have no direction and constant
Depression because of it.
Out of interest did you fast with hypoglycaemia? I am at a dangerously low weight but really could use giving my digestion a break. I’m sensible enough to not try anything too aggressive but feel improving constipation and my gut are central to my overall improvement. Fibre colon cleansing is certainly out, as is aggressive anti fungal treatment, as is attempting to release toxins from the liver in such a weak state. I’m going to try a few water enema’s and hopefully some soothing anti-inflammatory supplements such as aloe vera and quercetin. Of course cortisol is anti-inflammatory but I aint got much of that in reserve!
I would continue to welcome any thoughts on my tricky case.
