Re: Few questions...
Hi April,
Regarding juices and yeast, I've thought a lot about it, as I suffer from huge candida overgrowth myself, and I think it's all about finding the balance between the
Sugar content versus the benefit of the juice on the body.
For example, apple juice: we know the malic acid content of it is really important regarding the softening of intrahepatic and gallbladder stones, and it is vital to get those out to restablish a good liver function and winning the battle against candida overgrowth or any disease; but the
Sugar content is very high. So, I replace apple juice by apple cider vinegar as an alternative.
Carrots: they produce quite a lot of juice, are cheap, are quite high in sugar, but the mineral content is high and the beta carotene is very beneficial to the body and the liver. So I juice quite a lot of them.
Pineapples are not that beneficial apart from the bromelain content. But I have to admit that I supplement with bromelain, even if it is not "natural" healing.
I am in the middle of a juice fast myself. My main vegetables for the amount of juice they produce are carrots, cucumbers, fennel,
Celery and tomatoes. The cost is a concern for me too. The other veggies I juice are broccoli, spinach, lettuce, cauliflower, cabbage, onions, garlic, ginger, black radish, all rather cheap, and sometimes asparagus and bell peppers.
