Re: painful infected big toe

Are you using warm-to-hot water in your salt soaks? Are you using A LOT of salt? You want it as salty as sea water. After a longish (30 minutes) soak in warm salt water, you can apply a poultice of clay and oregano oil. Aztec secret is a good clay for this, but any green cosmetic clay is good. Put some of the clay powder in a small bowl, add water to cover and wait about 30 minutes and the clay will hydrate, if it's too thick add more water, too thin, a little more clay. The most economical way to do this is to make up a small batch and add several drops or dropperful of oregano oil to the clay and mix it up. Apply to your toe, cover the whole toe, not just where it's sore. If the oregano oil stings and burns a little bit, then you've got enough oregano oil. Try to wait out the burn, it'll subside in a minute. Wrap the toe in plastic wrap to keep the clay from getting on anything and to keep it moist. Apply new clay with oregano oil after another evenings salt water soak, wrap it again and leave it on all night. If it's not any better on Monday, keep your Dr's appointment.

But I've had good luck with clay and oregano oil drawing out infection.
