Acts of Kindness Appreciated
I get so use to people being mean that I begin to expect meaness. As I sat with my broken stove today trying to get to town to fix it,many cars passed me by. I begin to think about people owning cars and their responsibility to the human race. Jordan is not like America, the majority of people do not own cars. Most take taxi and buses as gasoline is so very expensive.
I wondered how many people passed by women and not offering to help them. I wondered how many people passed by women in the hot sun and never offering a ride or even a smile of greeting.
As the cars went by very fast, I sat waiting for the bus to arrive. Finally I got on the bus with my stove. I had such a hard day and had to go to many shops trying to fix my electric cooktop, only to find out it cannot be fixed. I just gave the man the cooktop and he smiled.
After leaving the shop I thought to myself how stupid that was as he could of been lying. I should of taken it to another shop but such is life.
On the way home after a long day of shopping and looking for baby's meat I hailed a taxi and there was much traffic on the road. In my mind I just knew this taxi driver would try and stiff me for a high fare. His meter was not at zero when I entered the taxi and just expected him to be unjust. Much to my surprise he accepted my money with no question and merely thanked me.
I thanked Allah that someone in this world had been fair and just. Sad to say we get corrupt in our minds always expecting bad from people.
I also thanked Allah for the many people who came running to baby's defense with help and yes kind words. After losing Precious in July baby is all I have. She has a broken leg and tail from when she was a baby and she is a helpless creature with no family like me. The neighbors killed her whole family and they brought her to me like that. I don't know what baby's fate is but I can sure say thank you my friends for caring.
