Question for Tony or Luella
Max, my big lovable orange and white tabby, appears to have another bladder infection. I found a dish towel on the kitchen floor soaked in pee yesterday morning. I immediately dosed him with 1tsp of colloidal silver (Utopia). I dosed him again around lunch time and again at bed time. This morning, another kitchen towel was on the floor (I had it draped on the oven door handle) and this time it was dry but "hiding" some poop. Max struck again. By appearances of the litter box (litter piled up in "his corner") he did pee in it either last night or this morning.
I have not taken him to the vet as he's doesn't appear to be suffering from crystals, he's not doing the "gotta pee" dance to the litter box every 30 minutes or so. He's eating well too. So I'm pretty sure we're dealing with a bladder infection.
I dosed him this morning again with 1 tsp. and plan to do it 3 times a day... but for how long? Should I continue the 1 tsp 3x day for 7 days, 10 or 14?
He seemed to start feeling better last night and is presently out in the back yard hanging out. I just watched him walk around the whole yard checking out everything. This is a first! Ever since he had been attacked by Bounder that night shortly after we moved here and then "bounded" on by Willow shortly after in the front yard and he wandered off and apparently got lost because he didn't come home until very late that night, he's been quite agoraphobic. He's just recently started going out in the back yard by himself but he's always kept close to the house on or near the deck. Always panicking and wanting to come in if I shut the door. Last night he stayed outside in the evening and didn't want to come in when I shut the door and locked it before my daughter and I headed out to get something to eat.
I don't know if this is the CS working on his anxiety or not, but I'm really pleased with this current turn of events. I've been trying for the last 4 years to get him to overcome his agoraphobia! Hopefully he'll start going out the front door, soon too.
