Any consensus on monolaurin?

We know that in the gel form it reduces candida in women when applied to vagina

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20008774

And furthermore it may be impressively synergistic with drugs

At one-half its MIC, dodecylglycerol decreased the MIC of amphotericin B by as much as 80-fold

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7979283

So its tempting to take the pellet form with Ampho B/nystatin.

On the other hand a google search turns up many reports of moms who claim their autistic kids "yeast symptoms" were made worse by the monolaurin pellets (although a few actually say on the contrary it helped candida).

So any more opinions on this stuff? It tastes like soap by the way.
