Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) to lab rats to make it fat.(to conduct experiments of slimming drugs) There are links online yet I could not add it in the wiki.
So go figure.
You are being fed lies about MSG.
It is a lot more, I never get any of the symptoms mentioned except headache.

It is not part of the populations it takes time for
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) to break the blood-brain-barrier.
Once it is broken you are screwed. It takes time and varies from person to person. It also varies on how much MSG you consume.
I can easily make out if there is MSG in my diet I just start putting on weight(I eat outside a bachelor)
There was a time when I thought I was paranoid.
I was eating squid in a very old restaurant. My friend said they might not even know what MSG is(this is town, not a city in South India).
I was on a diet, eating on vegetarian food, I went of all processed foods and sodas and was doing very well losing 5kgs a month without any excercise.
I though squid is not that much of fat(and I was not trying to have a fat free diet, just a processed food and fast food free diet)
But I started putting on weight I put on 4 Kgs in 15 days.
I then asked them if they Put MSG they said no.
After a week I was still putting on weight. then on the 10th day I just acted smart and told the waiter with confidence "like I know" not to put MSG I am allergic.
He came back and told me it will not taste good. I said no problem I am used to it.
And what I got was "shit" it was like I was eating dried dessicated coconut and some grass(cilantro) and it was shit.
I was addicted to this dish which tasted like manna from heaven for two months now.
And when I tell him not to add MSG it tastes like shit. And used to wonder how the f*** do they get fresh squid every single day. Guess what the squid aint so fresh when you do not add MSG.
Next day I went there was lunch and had the squid with MSG again it was yummy.
In the evening I had it without MSG it was f***ed up.
Shocking truth I found out in my small town almost each and every restaurant uses MSG. 5 years later there is not one restaurant that does not use MSG.
They will lose business if they do not use MSG. Cause people are addicted to MSG laden food. They add dangerous amounts here. I get a headache if just eat one piece of a Paneer Tikka in some hotels.
There is a lot of lies regarding this chemical.
So beware.
Worst part I have yet to see actual research papers that say prove all of the good things about MSG.
BTW MSG was first manufactured by Ajinomot in 1940 it reached america and China at the same time.
So MSG is NOT a part of Chinese cuisine I heard a chinese housewife say that in disgust.
What do you think before 1940 the chinese were not eating "tasty" food(or UMAMI food for the japanese)???

I think its a well engineered chemical.
Someone should pick the stuff in my city and do a chemical test of it.
