spider bites

We just bought a house in the country and discovered it has brown recluse spiders. We don't know the extent of it just yet, but I would like to know what to keep on hand just in case someone gets bitten. I'm scared to death of these spiders, but don't know what we can do about it now. Any help is appreciated, especially since we'll have two small children in the house with the new baby almost here.
