Does Vitamin C create a more acidic body?

I have regular ascorbic acid powder, and also buffered C crystals with calcium carbonate. Would the buffered one be better to keep the system from becoming too acidic?

I don't particularly believe in supping with calcium.

I usually have an alkaline reading on the pH strips (saliva) as in slightly darker than the lightest green, so over 7. But in the morning I have yellow or 6 if I take the vitamin C or even if I don't.

Should I concentrate on alkalinizing myself at night to create an alkaline reading upon waking in the morining?

I am trying to supp vitamin C to help build collagen-some skin imperfections waiting to heal
