Hi,

To stop the sandflies and black flies biting you, you might want to try putting a few drops of an essential oil like Citronella or rosewood in your body lotion. Those two are supposed to be quite good at repelling insects. I haven't tried it myself so I don't know how effective it will be. Here is some more info on those two essential oils.
