My friend is currently looking at purchasing a sun filter for her telescope. She has a Mounted Dobsion Telescope with quite a large apparture. I'm not exactly sure of the measurments but it captures amazing detail.

I had a standard telescope with a small view, of about the diameter, approx. 50mm to 55mm. Nevertheless, when I viewed the sun, I almost fell over with excitment including the telescope falling on me. It was just an amazing perspective, viewing the sun with a blue sky and then looking through the eyepiece to see the black sky with the sun.
