Are Christian's mentioned in the Bible?

Hello,

I believe we should find out the truth about what the Bible has to say a Christian is.

What do you believe?

Does the Bible even talk about people being Christians or is this just a made up name?

Sure enough the Bible does mention the name Christian and Christians, but just Three times.

I wonder Why only Three times?

Christian is found in two places:

Acts 26:28 & I Peter 4:16

What was the meaning of the word that was transulated to be Christian? The Greek word was simply the meaning of a follower of Christ.

The word Christians is only found in:

Acts 11:26

What understanding may we glean out of this?

I believe we may see that to be a Christian we must be followers of Christ.

What does being a follower of Christ mean?

The Greek word of follower means to be an imitator.

I believe this means if we are to call our selves Real Christians we are to be followers(imitators) of Christ.

Could it be that we should then ask ourself each time we go to say something or react to another person that we should ask ourselves what Jesus would do?

What about how we take care of our physical bodys?

Like eating Junk foods, which make us Sick?

Did Jesus eat Junk foods?

What does the bible have to say about how we care for our physical bodies?

I Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

The Greek meaning of Glorify means to render or esteem and or honor.

I believe it simply means we are to take the best care of our physical body, which includes eating properly so we don't make our body Sick and or do things that will Harm our physical body.

I Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, bretheren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Mark 13:13 Jesus said quote: " but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

I believe that one may clearly see that we are in the physical and that our physical body cannot inherit God's Kingdom. We first must take care of our physical body the best we can and seek to walk in the Fruits of the Spirit and endure unto the end of our physical life to be counted worthy.

I believe we cannot do this of our own accord, but that we must have the Holy Spirit helping us.

I believe we cannot have this Holy Spirit unless we acknowledge Jesus as our Saviour and by his Grace we then shall produce Good fruits.

Faith without works is Dead. This I also believe.

I believe if we cannot learn to change from our Sinning against our body the things that make our body Sick then how can we think we can become Spiritual when we cannot even See, Feel, Touch, Hear etc the Spiritual?

From another angle, I believe if we believe in God and have accepted Jesus as our Savoiur and we are Sick physically that we then shall Seek to find Natural Healing and be willing to make the needed changes to obtain physical Healing.

I believe anyone who claims to be a Christian and is physically Sick and is unwilling to help themself find Natural Healing and make the needed changes to physically heal, may not be as much of a Christian as they want to claim.

I believe these folks may be just numbers filling some seat and feeling sorry for themself and using Christianity as a sympathy tool to get attention.

I believe Jesus had something to say about these kinds of folks.

Something like no work, No eat! I believe Jesus did not believe in a welfare mentality.
