Re: Desperate - Assistance Needed (Please!)
ok, a few more questions. what were the results of your previously mentioned cleanses?
here's where i would start to first address weight gain.
look into some form of weston price, paleo, or maybe the
Blood Type Diet . you didn't mention what your blood type was.
i also wanted to ask you this: if your mind were a blank slate and you went off into the world with no preconceived dogma about nutrition, what would your diet be like? in other words viscerally what does your body want and what do you have the strongest appetite for, same would go for drinks.
see what kind of animal proteins you can digest well, and that don't weigh you down. also don't shy away from fatty cuts of meats. marbled rib steaks, dark meat chicken, duck, goose, buffalo, venison, eggs, butter, wild salmon, etc etc. look also at scallops, sole, and other seafish as well because these are high in zinc and will also address the skin problem. beef is high in zinc as well, but all sea fish is high in zinc. you can try cooking meats in a crockpot to help break down proteins to make it more digestable. marinate in citrus or vinegar, try steak tartare ( thin sliced raw beef), ceviche (raw seafood marinated in fresh lime juice), cook meats in well-spiced mixes like turmeric, garlic, ginger, etc.
don't go hog wild with this. just do it as an experiment starting with small quantities and then going higher if it is tolerated. if you experience gall bladder or other discomfort with this stop and regroup, there are other ways to get to the top of the mountain.
this approach will address the issue of getting more cholesterol into your body that will help to feed the adrenal and sex glands, and if digested well will help build muscle mass, and it will be some indicator if a vegetarian approach is wrong ( or right)
in addition, add in some grains that you feel you tolerate well, and as many low starch vegetables as you like.
and high enzyme fruits like pineapple, papaya, kiwi, citrus if tolerated, berries. avocado in particular feeds the sexual system.
i would also particularly look into raw oysters and clams. clams have more b12 than red meat. and oysters are one of the best sources of zinc. make sure these are absolutely fresh and with no smell. often very good steak restaurants serve fresh oysters. or try a very high quality seafood restaurant. do not eat these if they aren't of the highest quality.
also raw nuts or nut butters.
if you think this route is a good one for you, then check into authors like sally fallon, weston price, jan kwasniewski, vonderplanitz, jordan rubin ( the maker's diet)or other paleo diet proponents.
to further strengthen the adrenal glands you may want to try royal jelly. this is a bee product and nature's highest source of pantothenic acid. very important: it has to be fresh and either frozen or refrigerated. do not mess with powders or pills. go straight to a reputable beekeeper and then store it frozen or in the fridge. take a very very very small dose of this, like a drop, to start. this is extremely potent stuff.
also look into licorice root extract or dgl licorice for your adrenals. the best source i know if is from a company called scientific botanicals. it comes in a small container and looks like black tar or molasses. start with 1/8th or 1/4 teaspoon and see how this works for you. licorice is problematic though, in that it is also a cholagogue (bile stimulant). if your liver is sufficiently congested and you try to force the bile out, you will not feel good. if this happens, obviously stop.
two other adrenal specific foods are raw egg yolks and raw salmon, preferably fatty salmon. egg yolks are easy... if you tolerate them well then make it a regular part of your life. wild salmon is lean and, farmed salmon has usually more fat, but the problem with this is the toxic pellets they feed to them. make your own decision on this.
raw nuts like macadamia or cashews will help provide useable pantothenic acid, but it is not as strong as the royal jelly.
in my opinion the dark circles are most likely related to kidney toxicity. it could also be related to liver and/or intestinal toxicity as well. there are a number of different types of kidney stones, each with different causes. for the time being make sure you have sufficient fluid intake. not necessarily water, but including water. low
Sugar fresh fruit juices, or fresh non-goitrogenic vegetable juices (no cabbage, broccoli, kale, mustard greens). maybe add some
Sea Salt to the vegetable juices. in some cases the adrenal glands will cause too much sodium to be excreted and you will want to lean toward a higher sodium intake. signs of this are that drinking plain water makes you weaker, or eating a lot of high potassium foods also make you weaker. if you find this is the case then add liberal amounts of high quality
Sea Salt to your diet.
if all of this turns out to be a disaster i will get into a vegetarian/herbal approach next.
