John 9:1 As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.
Gods glory is going to be displayed by this mans sufferings of being blind
4 We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6 Having said these things, he spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man's eyes with the mud 7 and said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.
Luke 12:3 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!
Why am I saying all of this????
Because the bible shows our focus is not on this flesh. It instead shows that God causes our sufferings for his glory. He also provides just what we need, and always right on time.
If we would focus less on what we are supposed to do and looking to ourselves to do stuff. If we instead followed the words of this hymn our lives would be so much better
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
