Re: Mega Sun Spot Cycle
Of course it is to be assumed that the Mayans were very skilled in astronomy (the "lunar" day?), but it is unlikely that they considered all the earthquakes in history that would shorten the earth "day" of the Julian calendar (the "geodesic" day?).
The Mayan Long Count Calendar likely measured time only according to the movement of the planets. After the Chile earthquake, it was discovered that the "DAY" had been shortened.
If earthquakes have been "shortening the DAY" for thousands of years, could the Mayan timing be off? (maybe 2011).
Because of all the weather, climate, and natural disasters recently, it seems that the only thing that could be off is the timing. Present conditions make 2012 seem like a bit of a stretch (or is that just me?).
There is a definite indication that "DAY" can be shortened substantially in our lifetime (probably not as much as a third in OUR lifetime)....
Revelation 8:12
"a third of the day was kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night".
