Ears are OK but both sodium chlorite and chlorine dioxide can damage the eyes, so it is best to avoid use there. If you get some in your eyes be sure to flush the eye with lots of water.

A good ear solution starts out strong, then backs off in strength. This knocks infections down initially, then prevents re-infection until things heal up.

Chlorine dioxide and chlorine dioxide solutions are not cleaners or detergents. You will have to first clean out the ear, as best you can, before using the chlorine dioxide solution.

The 22.4% sodium chlorite concentration is dangerous to handle, so I recommend diluting it down to a 5% concentration.

The starting strong solution is made by placing 10 ml of 5% sodium chlorite in a glass, adding 10 ml of 10% citric acid , mixing, then allowing the activation to continue for 10 minutes. Then you add enough water to make a total of 500 ml.

This can be sprayed into the ear, or be used to saturate a cotton ball that is placed into the ear and held there for a minute or two. You may consider doing this 3 - 4 times a day. After 2 - 3 days of this, cut the strength of the solution in half, and after another week, if you are still working on this, cut the strength of the solution in half again.

It usually takes a couple of days to kill the infection, and a few more days to mop things up. Healing can take a week or two so the idea of the lower strength solution is to keep any infection away during the healing process.
