Re: Leaky Gut

Slippery elm powder (stir a pinch into a glass of water..... wait about ten minutes... then drink on empty stomach). And make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water ALL the time. I agree that glutamine can be helpful also, but start out slowly. A person with leaky gut can be sensitive to glutamine also.... like just about everything else. So make sure that you start slowly so you can judge whether it's actually making the problem WORSE. And you have to be absolutely sure that you are avoiding anything that aggravates the problem.... and not just the obvious ones like sugar, coffee, gluten, dairy...... there are a LOT of different things that can cause problems. Try to eat very little for a few days in a row (don't fast, just eat REALLY light). I've also found that using ground flax seed as a source of fiber has helped me. It SEEMS like it would be hard on your intestines, but it's actually very mucilaginous (smooth and slippery). At least that is how it is for ME.... remember that everyone is different and that the only way to know is to try things yourself. Good luck.
