This equipment is like new - mint condition. It has seen very little residential use. Never used commercially. Bought in late 2007. This is what I paid:

Research done at Underwriters Laboratories (UL) classify the Q1000 laser as Class I, Non-significant Risk device, and invitro cell testing at the University of New York at Stony Brook has proven that cellular irradiation by low level lasers causes no harm to living cells. The Q1000 has proven exceptionally safe during use with farm/hobby animals and household pets. The Q1000 device has been registered with the FDA and has been issued accession numbers awaiting FDA approval. While testing done in Europe has shown that low level lasers can have positive healing effect on eye injuries, users are advised to avoid direct laser beam exposure to the eyes.

Certain people in other countries, using low level laser therapy in combination with Vitamin E oil and/or other topical lotions have experienced a photo-sensitivity reaction. Therefore, it is recommend that non-US individuals using low level laser therapy equipment on dry skin only, and not after applying oils or tropical lotions to the skin. Also, certain synthetic materials appear to magnify the intensity of laser energy. Therefore, it is recommended that they do not apply any of the Q1000 light through synthetics, but only directly to the dry skin.

The 660 & 808 Enhancer probes: Class IIIA and IIIB respectively, the 660 and 808 Enhancers are designed to enhance the effectiveness of the Q1000. They provide the user with a true low level laser therapy system. Due to their Class III status, these devices should never be used in or near the eyes, or over the organs.

Pre & Post Pain Assessment. One effect method of assessing the value and results of laser therapy is to 1) conduct a pre-treatment assessment of the symptoms - this helps to establish benchmark or base level of symptoms 2) perform the laser treatment 3) conduct a post-treatment assessment using the same methods as in the pre-treatment assessment; this helps to quantify actual results.
